What a Great Time We Had!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the second annual A Black Forest Christmas on
Sunday, December 4th. We were excited with the incredible turnout for this event. The volunteer team was scrambling to put out more tables and chairs, but our fantastic community squeezed in and made room!
During this event, we experienced the magic of A Black Forest Christmas with the annual Black Forest Christmas Tree Lighting; plus music, caroling, line dancing, kids crafts, hot drinks, delicious food, and Christmas cookies.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were also there to visit with the children of the Black Forest Community.
It is fun to see both the young and the young-at-heart visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
There was free food for the community, courtesy of the Black Forest Festival & More Volunteer Team (affectionately called the BFF’s). The volunteers each prepared their favorite soup, stew, or chili recipe to share with the community during this event. After the beautiful tree lighting, with carols led by the Forest Chorus, everyone came back inside to warm up with a selection of delicious hot soups!
We were touched to see all of the additional soups, stews, and chilis brought by members of the community.
We are all so fortunate to be part of such a special community.
We would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the following:
Santa and Mrs. Claus
Trisha Dudding for the wonderful story reading
The Forest Chorus for leading our carols by the tree
R&R Cafe for donating coffee and hot chocolate
Mack and Yong Sharp and the Black Forest LineDancers for performing
The Pine Creek Choir Singers for the wonderful acapella songs
The Schreiter Family for decorating their classic orange truck and making it available for pictures
The Black Forest Festival & More Volunteer Team (our BFF’s)
We are currently in the process of creating a 2022 A Black Forest Christmas Recipe Book.
Members of the Black Forest Community Club will receive a free digital copy of the Recipe Book with their new or renewed membership. Membership is only $15.00 per year for your entire family and helps to maintain and fund improvements to the Black Forest Community Center and also helps support community events like A Black Forest Christmas. If you brought a soup, stew, chili or homemade cookies to the event and would like to contribute to the Recipe Book, please email your recipe and a few comments about why you like that recipe to WeAreBlackForestCO@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you all next year for our 3rd Annual…
