DESCRIPTION:Save the Date for the 2024 A Black Forest Christmas featuring the Black Forest Log School\nSaturday\, December 7\n5:00pm – 8:00pm\nBlack Forest Community Center\, 12530 Black Forest Road\nJoin us for A Black Forest Christmas featuring the Black Forest Log School. This event is not just a community gathering\, it is a fundraiser and 100% of the net proceeds go toward the renovation costs for the historic Black Forest Log School. This will be a great event for the entire family. A full dinner will be served thanks to generous donations from local businesses. \nWe are also hosting drink service with beer\, wine\, and some special Christmas drinks. Soda and hot chocolate will also be available. Coffee and water will be provided at no cost by the Black Forest Community Center. As this is a fundraiser for the Log School\, we kindly request that no outside beverages are brought into the event. \nThe Log School will be decorated for Christmas as it would have been decorated 100 years ago shortly after it was first built. The Log School will be open for tours with a guided talk by local docents knowledgeable of the Black Forest Log School. The Log School docents will have a special old-time Christmas gift for each child at the end of the tour! Tours will be available on a donation basis. \nThere will also be a silent auction\, christmas carols\, christmas cookies\, and visits with Santa! Clean up after. \nWho: Members of the Women Warriors of the Woods and the Black Forest Community can sign up to give away items from our homes\, yards\, barns\, storage units\, and closets. These items will then be displayed in a garage-sale format\, which is open to the general public. It’s a yard sale without money! \nWhy: To get rid of our clutter while blessing others. \nThere are 15 remaining spots available for a giveaway tables. You must bring your own tables or blanket to display your items. Set up will start at 11am\, with doors opening to the public at 12pm. If you would like to participate as a “vendor”\, please sign-up using the form below\, and let us know in the comments whether you would like to reserve the equivalent of one 8‘ x 3‘ space or two 8‘ x 3‘ spaces. If you plan to bring a blanket for your items\, please request two spaces. You do NOT want to miss this special intro to line dance steps class. \nWhat: Unlike no other\, an absolute beginner-level 90 minute line dance bootcamp! \nWhen: Feb 7\, 9:00 AM-10:30 AM \nWhere: Black Forest Community Center \nWhy: This bootcamp is very helpful for those who have little to no line dance experience\, BUT have a desire to learn. The class will focus primarily on 20 or so of the most common and basic steps in line dance. We will learn one line dance at the end of the instructional phase of camp. No one has left these boot camps without being able to do at least one dance. So come have fun!! \nWho: All are welcome but must be physically able to stand\, walk\, kick\, turn\, and do other dance steps. Check with your physician beforehand!! \nWe specialize in those who claim to have “2 left feet”! \nCost: $10 per person to be donated to the Black Forest Community Center \n*Disclaimer: No 1st aid/CPR equipment or person is on hand. DESCRIPTION:We are so exited to host our third annual A Black Forest Christmas at the Black Forest Community Center on Saturday\, December 2nd from 3:00pm – 6:00pm.  \nThis will be a great event for the entire family with a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus\, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting\, music and carols\, children’s crafts\, free hot food and drinks\, and Christmas cookies! \nAgain this year\, we are serving food to the community. Volunteers active within the Black Forest are spreading Christmas love to our community this holiday season by preparing their favorite soup\, stew\, or chili recipe or bringing a finger-food to share during this event. We invite the community to bring Christmas cookies to share. Food and hot drinks will be served during the entire event from 3pm – 6pm.

DESCRIPTION:Black Forest Fire Remembrance\n10 Years of Recovery\nSaturday\, June 10th\, 1:00pm\nBlack Forest Community Center \nUPDATE: Due to the interest in this event\, we have created a parking area in the Backyard near the Western Storefront. Several disabled parking spots will be available near the Community Center\, but please head to the Backyard Area for general event parking. Thank you!  \nJoin us for the Black Forest Fire Remembrance event featuring Keynote Speaker\, Congressman Doug Lamborn.  \nThis event will also feature a Scout-led Flag Ceremony\, informational booths regarding Firewise and Mitigation\, plus other local speakers. You are invited to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy in the Log School Park\, or food will be available for purchase. BFCC Volunteers will be selling hot dogs and R&R Cafe and Rizuto’s Ice Cream will have items for purchase. Come out to spend time with your neighbors as we recognize our community’s recovery from the Fire. \nBlack Forest Community REGROW TO RESTORE \nIf you are able\, dig and pot a small sapling from your property and bring it to the event. We have lists of residents whose properties were destroyed by the fire.
