DESCRIPTION:This year\, the Log School in Black Forest is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary! \nIn honor of this occasion\, we are holding a Centennial Celebration on Saturday\, September 10th and Sunday\, September 11th. \nThe Centennial Celebration begins on Saturday\, September 10th with tours of the historic schoolhouse\, a Quilt Show Fundraiser in the Community Center\, and children’s games in the Log School Park. The children’s games will feature popular games from the 1920’s and there will also be discounted ice cream from Rizuto’s Ice Cream Truck. \nThe Centennial Celebration Schedule of Events is as follows: \nSaturday\, September 10th\n10:00am – 1:00pm\, Log School Open House and Tours\n3:30pm – 6:30pm\, Children’s Games and Ice Cream in the Log School Park\n4:00pm – 6:00pm\, Log School Open House and Tours\n5:00pm – 7:00pm\, Quilt Show Fundraiser in the Black Forest Community Center \nSunday\, September 11th\n10:00am – 4:00p\, Quilt Show Fundraiser in the Black Forest Community Center \nThe Log School Open House and children’s games are free\, and Rizuto’s ice cream will be available at reduced prices courtesy of the Log School and the Community Club. DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Sunday June 12th at 5:00pm for a Community Potluck Dinner/Fire Remembrance with live music by the Highland Troupe. \nWe have not forgotten that the Black Forest Fire took place in the month of June. This June\, we want to hold a community celebration in remembrance of the fire; however\, we also want to recognize the amount of regrowth that has taken place since the fire. Please join us for a Community Potluck Dinner on Sunday June 12th at 5:00pm at the Black Forest Community Center\, 12530 Black Forest Road. This will be a time for the Black Forest Community to come together and recognize and celebrate the Strong Community Roots that bind us all together. \nThis will be a potluck dinner\, so please bring a dish to share and bring drinks for your party\, alcoholic beverages are permitted. \nFor those in our community that are not able to bring a dish to share\, we ask you to please join this dinner. DESCRIPTION:The Black Forest Community Center will again be hosting a Beginner Line Dance Boot Camp on Wednesday\, May 4th from 9am-11am!  \nThis Boot Camp is specifically tailored to those with little to no line dance experience\, but would very much like to get started on it. \nThe Boot Camp will focus on some of the more common and necessary beginner-level line dance steps\, and will conclude with one or two line dances using many of those steps. \nThe class is free\, but a $5 per person donation to the community center is suggested and proceeds go to our community center’s new roof.  \n    ——- Beginner Level Boot Camp— \nWhat: An absolute-beginner level line dance Boot Camp class \nWho: All are welcome!  Mack Sharp\, Yong Sharp\, and Denny Hassey offer this unique 2-hour Boot Camp. \nWhen: 4 May 2022\, 9-11 AM \nWhere:  Beautiful and Rustic Black Forest Community Center (12530 Black Forest Road) \nDetails: The first hour of the camp will focus on dance steps and techniques\, followed by putting those steps into 1-2 popular and fun line dances.   \nImmediately following the two hour line dance camp there will be the usual 11:30am-1:00pm Beginner Line Dance Class and those participating in the Boot Camp are also welcome to stay for that class as well. \nThis is a great 3 1/2 to 4 hour class for only a $5 donation! \n*Please note that neither the Black Forest Community club nor the instructors are responsible for injury incurred during or as a result of this and other classes.  Always check with your medical professionals before beginning any type of new exercise class or routine.
