These Fundraisers were invaluable to help the increasing cost of resources needed to host an event that grows each year.

The Chicken Coop raised $4,700.00!

The Chicken Coop has drink specials daily, poker every Wednesday and Friday nights, plus pool tables, dart boards, and a great back yard, all in the heart of the Black Forest.

Join us for live music every Saturday and enjoy the best bands in Colorado Springs.

“At the Coop you’re always family! It’s Cheers in the Forest! Absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone who just wants to relax and be around down to earth good people.”

Homestead Care

Homestead Direct Primary Care

If you’ve ever wondered what happened to the days of a family doc who would sit down and look you in the eye during your appointment, and have time to chat about what the kids are up to and how your garden is doing, then look no further. Homestead Direct Primary Care is a local, veteran-and woman-owned business where your doctor works for you.

HDPC is part of a larger movement in medicine called Direct Primary Care, which treats insurance as something for large expenses and emergencies, and not a way to pay for the expected annual medical care that everyone needs.  We have contracted with local labs, imaging centers, and even some specialists to keep your prices reasonable.  We even offer some common medications on site that we can sell for a wholesale cost, no waiting at the pharmacy required!

Dr. Rachel K. Langley is a family physician in Gleneagle (Monument/Black Forest/North Colorado Springs area) who will listen to you and take the time to hear what you’re saying.  She has opted out of the “normal” healthcare insurance system. She works directly with her patients for a monthly membership fee. Paid only by her patients, she works only for them – with no conflicts of interest to keep an insurance company happy.

MVEA-Updated2024

Mountain View Electric Association

Mountain View Electric Association, Inc. (MVEA) is a not-for-profit member-owned electric cooperative that was organized in 1941 following a transformative meeting at the Black Forest Community Center of about 150 local citizens who believed in the power of electricity to bring a better quality of life to rural communities.

Today, MVEA serves more than 55,500 members and over 65,000 meters in portions of eight counties – Arapahoe, Crowley, Douglas, Elbert, El Paso, Lincoln, Pueblo, and Washington. The co-op has grown over the years, but one thing remains the same: MVEA still operates on the values we started with years ago – integrity, accountability, innovation, and commitment to the communities we serve. Marchbank Family Memorial Logo V3

Marchbank Family Memorial

The Marchbank Family has lived in Black Forest since 1963.  Don and Vera Marchbank had lived in the same home until their deaths – Vera passed in March of 2021.  Jim and Kelly built their home on adjoining property. Their children Patrick and Sean were raised true Black Forest kids walking through the woods to Grandma’s house, riding their dirt bikes in the trees, and walking a mile to play with the neighbors.

In August of 2017, Patrick Marchbank died as a result of a traumatic brain injury while riding in a vintage motocross race – something he had done hundreds of time before.  Patrick had just graduated from Pine Creek High School.  He played soccer including in the Black Forest League, ran track and was a percussionist for Pine Creek Marching Band, Winter Percussion, Jazz Combo and Symphonic Band. He had planned to go to Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Arizona to become a Yamaha Certified Mechanic.

Since his death, his family keeps his memory alive.  At https://hobomotorsports.com/ you can read about his story.  Donations have come from all over the country.  From these donations, a scholarship in his name was started through the Education Opportunity of Black Forest for students who are pursuing a trade or vocational education. Information regarding scholarships may be found at  www.eofblackforest.org/. This past spring, his sister Sean won his scholarship as she plans to attend a vet tech school in the fall. Other donations in Patrick’s memory afforded Pine Creek High School’s music program a new drum set. A scholarship was also formed at MMI from an auction of a donated motorcycle. Other organizations that are important to Patrick and his family are Life Network, Colorado Donor Alliance, Road2Recovery, Teaching the Autism Community Trades (TACT), and Pine Creek Eagle Band Boosters. Please consider donating to them in the future in honor and memory of Patrick Marchbank.

Golden Pine Coffee Roasters for the Pancake Breakfast

It all began with a one pound Sonofresco air roaster and a dream. Golden Pine was spun off of R & R Coffee Café when our roasting operations expanded past the store. Upon our move to our new location in early 2013, we upgraded our roasterie to include a 12 pound Sivetz Air Roaster. We also added a training lab and more storage space. As we continued to evolve, we realized our trusty Sivetz wasn’t cutting it anymore. In 2017 we moved from the air roaster to a lovingly restored 1987 Diedrich IR-12.

Every day is just another opportunity to be great, so why not let Iron Knight Disposal be great for you? Satisfaction guaranteed or double your trash back!

Black Forest Festival Sponsorship Opportunities

The Black Forest Festival is a longstanding event in the Black Forest Community. By sponsoring the festival, local businesses support the community in which they operate, and they also help to promote their business brand to members of the community.

All money raised goes directly toward festival expenses. Sponsorship levels range from $200 – $1,000; this is a great opportunity for businesses to build brand awareness while supporting the local Black Forest community.
